Why Pre order and what’s involved?
To give some assurance of supply of seasonal produce, we offer customers the option to pre order.
We try to accurately forecast harvest volumes but cannot rule out shortages of sufficient quality fruit caused by issues such as weather, uneven ripening, pest control and mechanical delays. In these extreme instances we try to fairly even out supply across orders.
Our fruit and juice prices are fixed however in order to minimise costs to customers we quote transport costs at the point of uploading them. Due to factors such as fuel surcharges, these are subject to change accordingly. This normally only amounts to a small variation.
How can I use my own packaging?
We are always keen to work with customers to minimising costs and reduce the burden on the environment. We will therefore accept your own packaging for fruit and juices, provided it is fit for purpose, delivered to Throne farm, Weobley HR4 8TE and we do not have to clean and sanitise it. Please contact us to discuss this with regards to cost reductions that we can offer and logistical requirements.
Why is it so important to conform to the delivery requirements?
Most importantly, we are dealing with perishable goods and we all want them to remain in optimal condition.
We use pallet delivery companies who can only offer competitive rates against efficient operations and so have some quite stringent requirements within their delivery agreements.
Please highlight any possible concerns to us before purchasing goods.
It is also helpful to supply contact details with the order, for a smooth delivery.
Are special delivery requirements available?
Yes nominated times and Saturday deliveries are available but they do incur extra costs and you will need to contact us to discuss these beforehand.
I don’t have a forklift. Can I still accept palletised deliveries?
Yes but please book the service to cover the additional charge and allow us to make the necessary arrangements. The lorry will need a flat concrete or similar hard area. They will not be able to wheel the fruit or juice over any extended distance from the lorry
I do have access to a forklift and want to optimise delivery costs
To optimise transport costs you can upgrade to 1000 Litres of juice in an IBC container.
Simply order your 900 litre IBC of juice.
Then go back into the juice ordering page, this time select the option for an additional 100 litres of juice.
Please make sure this matches the number of IBC’s that you want upgrading.
Are there any access restrictions for deliveires?
Yes. Most deliveries are made by eight wheeler lorries so please contact us in advance to discuss any concerns over weight restrictions, uneven tracks / non metalled surfaces and potential size restrictions for access.
The drop off address is difficult to find, can this effect deliveries?
Obviously this can, so please supply us as much information with you order so we can pass this on to the transport company
Can we deliver throughout the UK?
The freight company we use has extensive coverage throughout the UK however there are some geographical restrictions.
The main factor is delivery time, given we are dealing with perishable goods.
